A hybrid of - you guessed it - a plum and an apricot! The plumcot is also known as the 'Dino Egg' fruit, due to its striated markings, which are more obvious (and dino-like) on the red variety.
Its skin is velvety, almost fuzzy, much like its apricot parentage. Its flesh is sweet and juicy. It's also larger than the typical plum - about the size of an average apple.
