Japan Ume Jam


Plums may be harvested when the fruits are blue, or after they are ripe yellow. This is to harvest at a ripeness suitable for the purpose of processing.

At the blue stage, it has a strong acidity and flavour, so it is used for pickling such as plum wine and kanro-ni. When it turns yellow, the fruits become soft and sweet, so it is suitable for pickled plums and jams.

For our jam in May, we made the jam with a suitable ripeness that allows you to feel the flavour of ume.

Used as a secret ingredient for teriyaki meat, the sweet and sour taste of Ume jam makes it refreshing and delicious!
