The raw material for our 12-month jam series Fuji apples is from Aomori prefecture.
A variety called Fuji apple was cultivated in Aomori prefecture, and was named and registered as a variety in 1958.
Since then, Fuji apples have been produced and spread in Aomori for 50 years, and Aomori Prefecture has become the "apple kingdom", which accounts for about 60% of the total apple production in Japan.
Aomori Fuji is not only sweet, but also has a moderate acidity, so it goes well with jam.
Savour it with toast or try to bake it with bread to enjoy an apple pie without hassle!
